Welcome to La Petite Classe!
Hi there, I’m Daena, the creator behind La Petite Classe! With over 17 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, as well as supporting early readers through Reading Recovery. Currently, I teach Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion, and I absolutely love seeing young learners explore, create, and grow.
Why La Petite Classe?
When I first started teaching in a dual-language classroom, I struggled to find engaging, hands-on resources that worked seamlessly in both English and French. That’s when I decided to create my own materials—simple, purposeful activities that support fine motor skills, encourage movement, and align with the curriculum. Every resource I design is tested in my classroom to ensure it’s both practical and fun for students and teachers alike.
A Little About Me
Beyond the classroom, I’m a proud wife, mom of four, including a foster child, and my days are filled with family, laughter, and the occasional whirlwind of chaos. I’m a true crime enthusiast, a lover of thrillers, and someone who cherishes quiet moments with a good book. I also enjoy sharing ideas and connecting with other educators through my blog and social media.
